UCF Virtual Campus is a prototype for a mobile social MMO where the map is a recreation of the University of Central Florida main campus. It was made in Unity across 4 months on a multi-disciplinary team of 8.
I was in charge of designing and creating the database that stored and provided player information, including user login info and account information. This was a Microsoft Azure SQL Database, with API frontends through an Azure static web app. This also included implementing the API calls to and from the database in the game.
In addition, I worked on implementing and debugging the Unity Networking server side architecture for multiplayer replication across an open world and minigame instances.
Microsoft Azure Database and Static Web Apps
Unity Networking
Dedicated time working on systems and backend for a game; as opposed to work that is on content or in engine
Experience with the difficulties of debugging and programming a networked multiplayer game
Working on a game with less traditional design goals, like socialization and education
Creating a product with predefined needs from an outside source
